Thank you for having responded to my call.’  Our Lady of Medjugorje, Queen of Peace - February 25, 2004

As you read this issue of our newsletter one can only rejoice in the power of prayer and the faith that accompanies it.  "I am a pencil in God's Hands" - Mother Teresa.  And dear ones, you are the "writers" that allow us to continue our telephone and letter ministry, with for the time being, not scheduling any healing services.  Please keep my intentions in your prayers.  St. Teresa of Avila said, "Let nothing disturb you." Let us aspire to that depth of trust.

Books for the Soul

Dear Father Rookey,

I ordered and read "Shepherd of Souls."  Everyone should read this wonderful book about St. Anthony Pucci.  Now I am rereading for the second time.  "Poem of the Man God."  These books should be at the top of every Catholics list.

I am so grateful to God for you Father Rookey.  You give such hope in the Lord, His angles, saints and His Mother.  I look so forward to your newsletter.  God bless you.

Hepatitis "C" Gone

Dear Father Rookey,

In the year 2000. I found that I had Cirrhosis of the liver, caused from Hepatitis "C."  This disease is deadly and the doctors placed my name on the liver transplant waiting list.  On my last visit to the doctor, I was told that the Hepatitis "C" is completely gone!  Thank you for your kindness and your intercessory prayers.

Family Healing

Dear Father Rookey,

I have called throughout the years of helping my mother who suffered a broken neck and knees from a car accident.  I thank you all for praying and reminding me, my family is here - heaven on earth!

I have been healing daily from my obsessions, depression and eating disorder which have been with me since the age of 17.  At times, the thoughts and cravings, come - I repeat, "Jesus, I trust in You" - I am being relieved of the underlying anxiety.

My spiritual life also is deepening as I learn more about Catholicism and Jesus, and my prayer life is ever so rich.  I stop to ask God for guidance in everything.  It works!

Mom is improving physically and emotionally.  Soon her pain will be alleviated.  Until then, mom offers up her pain to Jesus.  God is a miracle worker!

You prayed through me as I interceded from my sister, who was in a coma resulting from a massive heart attack and two seizures.  She was dead for ten minutes.  I thanked Jesus for healing her.  Praise Jesus!  When I went up to visit her, she was alive, talking perfectly and 100% neurological functioning.  God’s love restored her brain and body and is healing her daily.

My sister had been living with an abusive boyfriend and she came to stay with mother and myself.  She is off birth control.  Praise to Jesus for cleansing her.  She had a desire to go to Mass with a friend - the first time in 15 years.  Praise Jesus!  For a soul to be brought back to life - no amount of money could have done that!

My brother, who is in extreme physical pain from a faulty botched back surgery and emotionally severe depression, informed my sister that he doesn’t want to be addicted to pain medication any more, and he has hopes for another back surgery.

Many, many small miracles - of asking for help an d receiving - instantly- which gives me assurance He is with me every moment, trusting in Him in the major decisions of my life.  I hand over the reins to Him!

Experiencing Improvement

Dear Father Rookey,

I called March 24th, to ask for prayer because my heart was beating extra beats.  I had been taking medicine since it started, but it was still happening.

You prayed for me when we spoke on the phone and asked me to write and let you know how I was.  I have experienced improvement.  I now have three or more days in a row that I don’t feel it happen, and I feel wonderful.

I don’t have words to express how much I appreciate your continuing prayer for me.

Baby Changed Tremendously

Dear Rookey,

I spoke with you three weeks ago from my hospital bed.  I have been diagnosed with a condition that makes the environment inside the body of the mother so toxic to the baby that emergency C-Section is necessary.  You prayed with me in my car via cell phone, on my way to the hospital, and again before the operation while I was in my hospital bed.

When my daughter was delivered, she weighed 2 pounds, 6 ½ ounces.  Almost three weeks have passed and she weighs 2 pounds, 12 ½ ounces and has changed  tremendously.  The doctors and nurses keep telling us how pleased they are with her progress.  My husband and I are ecstatic!  Praise to Jesus and Mary.  Thanks be to God!

I was also in the hospital for two weeks after delivery as I had advanced kidney failure.  I was ready to go to dialysis one morning and suddenly the lab reported I was normal and they sent me home.  God is great!

Father, thank you so much for your support and prayers and for believing for me at a time when I felt so weak in my own faith.

Letters, Prayers Save a Life

Dear Father Rookey,

I was ill and in much pain since October, 2002.  I needed to have all my colon removed.  I said, "No - I’ll just pray."  I called your line.  I ended up having a small tumor removed.  I received a new regime for my health.  Then I was told I should leave the members of my family who had made me ill, but after 47 years, I believe they can change, with God’s help.  I still have pain, but it’s bearable now.  Thanks for your prayers and letters.

Life Changed for the Better

Dear Father Rookey,

Back in 1997, I spoke to you about my mother who was dying.  I also told you that my priest friend was dying.  I sent him a express letter, asking that he put in a word for me to Jesus.  I hadn’t been to confession since 1970.

Immediately, my life changed for the better and I believe I am still on the right side of the Lord.

A couple of months back, I wrote you about being told I had "mild diffuse interstitial disease."  This month I had the follow-up x-ray and my lung was clear.

I am sure that it was your prayers and grace working together that brought about the positive outcome.  Thanks for the prayers and for saying you would pray for a cure.

Marriage Saved

Dear Father Rookey,

We receive a blessing from God when we turn to you for prayers in any situation.  You prayed for my son and his wife as she had left one day, took the two little boys and made out divorce papers.  She was being stubborn, but through the court system, he won custody of the boys.

Within a month and a half, she was softening and now she is back with my son.  The family has been reunited and the marriage has been saved.

We have been having some stormy weather.  When it occurs, I hold my prayer cloth, rosary beads and pray in the name of Jesus Christ that the storm leave.  I thank and praise Jesus Christ that the storm never harms my home.

My uncle called you and asked you to pray for me when I was ill.

I thank you for all your prayers and thank God for your gift of healing for me.

Leukemia in Remission

Dear Father Rookey,

I am now cancer free.  My little boy’s leukemia is in remission.  I will always be grateful to you and St. Peregrine for keeping me in prayer.

As a person, I am not so good with words, only when prompted by the Holy Spirit, Jesus and Mary or the Blessed Trinity.

I am again being checked for breast cancer.  The exam and blood tests came out clean, but I still need the mammogram and I seem a little nervous about that.

I am sending a few petals of the roses I have received from Our Lady.  I also have been given the gift to write prayers for those who request one.

Thank you, Father, for hearing me vent.  I praise God our Father for having given you so many graces.  If only we could draw more precious, gifted young men to join our Lord’s flock, and follow in His footsteps as you have done.  What a beautiful blessing that would be!

Miracle Prayer to the Rescue

Dear Father Rookey,

My son’s cancer is still in remission after eight years.  He was blessed by you in 1995.

May 26, 2003, I had a heart attack and was taken to the hospital.  I was told I had a blocked artery, so I went to emergency and they did some blood work.  After they gave me a shot, I asked my daughter to get the Miracle Prayer.  I said it and cried while I read it.

After I was given an angiogram, by the Grace of God, the plaque was out of my artery.  I didn’t need surgery.  It was a miracle!

Thanks to you, Father, and the staff for the prayers.

St. Michael the Archangel

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle; be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into Hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
