PRAYERS FOR SEPTEMBER

St. Alphonsus Liguori wrote:

"If you pray, you are positive of saving your soul. If you do NOT pray, you are just as positive of losing your soul."

Invocation To The Nine Choirs

O Holy Angels, watch over us at all times during this perilous life:
O holy Archangels, be our guides on the way to heaven;
O heavenly choir of the Principalities, govern us in soul and body;
O mighty Powers, preserve us against the wiles of the demons;
O celestial Virtues, give us strength and courage in the battle of life;
O powerful Dominations, obtain for us dominion over the rebellion of our flesh;
O sacred Thrones, grant us peace with God and man;
O brilliant Cherubim, illuminate our minds with heavenly knowledge;
O burning Seraphim, enkindle in our hearts the fire of charity.
Amen.

TO ST. MICHAEL:

O God, who did render blessed Michael, your archangel, victorious over the proud Lucifer and the wicked spirits, we beseech you that combating under the Cross, and ever adopting his maxim ‘Who is like God?’ we may be victorious over all our enemies, and delivered from all impediments; regulate our lives according to your will and commandments. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

TO ST. GABRIEL:

O God, the lover of the salvation of mankind, who did commission blessed Gabriel, assisting before your throne, to announce to the ever glorious Virgin, the mystery of your blessed Son’s becoming man, we beseech you, that recurring to his intercession, we may be helped in all our wants, spiritual and temporal. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

TO ST. RAPHAEL:

O God, who in your ineffable goodness has rendered blessed Raphael the conductor of your faithful in their journeys, we humbly implore you that we may be conducted by him in the way of salvation, and experience his help in the maladies of our souls. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

ACT OF CONSECRATION

Oh most Noble Prince of the Angelic Hierarchies valorous warrior of Almighty God, and zealous lover of His glory, terror of the rebellious angels, and love and delight of all the just ones, my beloved Archangel Saint Michael, desiring to be numbered among your devoted servants, I, today offer and consecrate myself to you, and place myself, my family, and all I possess under your most powerful protection.

I entreat you not to look at how little, I, as your servant have to offer, being only a wretched sinner, but to gaze, rather, with favorable eve at the heartfelt affection with which this offering is made, and remember that if from this day onward I am under your patronage, you must during all my life assist me, and procure for me the pardon of my many grievous offenses, and sins, the grace to love with all my heart my God, my dear Saviour Jesus and my Sweet Mother Mary, and obtain for me all the help necessary to arrive to my crown of glory.

Defend me always from my spiritual enemies, particularly in the last moments of my life.

Come then oh Glorious Prince and succour me in my last struggle, and with your powerful weapon cast far from me into the infernal abysses that prevaricator and proud angel that one day you prostrated in the celestial battle.

Saint Michael defend us in our daily battle so that we may not perish in the last Judgement

Prayer Before the Way of the Cross

Kneeling before the altar, make an Act of Contrition, and form the intention of gaining the indulgence, whether for yourself or for the souls in Purgatory.

My Lord Jesus Christ, Thou hast made this journey to die for me with love unutterable, and I have so many times unworthily abandoned Thee; but now I love Thee with my whole heart, and because I love Thee, I repent sincerely for having ever offended Thee. Pardon me, my God, and permit me to accompany Thee on this journey. Thou goest to die for love of me; I wish also, my beloved Redeemer, to die for love of Thee. My Jesus, I will live and die always united to Thee.

After the Stations, say the "Our Father," the "Hail Mary," and the "Glory be to the Father," five times, in honor of the Passion of Jesus Christ, and once for the intention of the holy Father.

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle; be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into Hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Prayer to St. Michael, St. Gabriel and St. Raphael

Most Holy Trinity, I thank Thee for having formed the hosts of Thy ministers in Heaven so marvelously, and for having adorned their leader so magnificently. Be Thou adored and loved in the beauty and grandeur of Thy ministers: be Thou praised in their jubilant songs of praise and thanksgiving, through all eternity. Amen.

O holy princes of Heaven, Michael, Gabriel and Raphael, I praise you for the love with which the Most High has loved you and placed you so near to His own throne. Be mindful of our necessities, and at the head of the Holy Angels, do battle for the Church of God upon earth, that Satan may be forced to yield ever more, and the Kingdom of light and grace, virtue and the holy love of God, may flourish in splendor, and its beauty be acknowledged by all. Amen.
