MARCH SAINTS

St. Dominic Savio

Originator: Company of the Immaculate Conception

When Dominic was five years old he learned to serve mass, so great was his burning desire to serve the Lord.  At age twelve he became a student at St. John Bosco’s school.  He expressed his wish to become a priest to his teacher and counsel, Don Bosco.

His schoolmates loved him for his kindness and cheerfulness.  Dominic had a pure heart and an intense love for the Eucharist.  He formed the Company of the Immaculate Conception because of his devotion to the Mother of God.

Dominic was blessed with many spiritual gifts including the knowledge of how to heal a hurting heart.  And through his prayers he could look into the future.  In fact, he had a vision that was passed on to and influenced Pope Pius IX.

St. Michael the Archangel

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle; be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into Hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
